Raw bottled milk
At this present point in time we are unable to supply raw bottled milk. Incidents interstate and overseas which have resulted in children and vulnerable individuals becoming seriously ill and in some cases dying as a direct result of consumption of raw milk have made us think long and hard about the supply of raw bottled milk.
Raw bottle milk has the potential to be dangerous if not handled properly or if consumed by individuals with compromised or undeveloped immune systems. We can not control how our raw milk is handled or used once it leaves our property and this means that there is the chance that our product may not be suitable for consumption or may be consumed by at risk individuals. As there is no pasteurisation or aging/brining step in raw bottled milk production there is no protection for consumer if the milk is not managed or used appropriately
In the production of our milk and products we take every care to ensure that they are produced in a safe and hygienic manner. The raw milk for bottling goes direct from our girls udders (via filtration) into the bottle so there is no kill step or pathogen control step in this product.
Whilst we respect the right of individuals to make a choice about the foods they want to consume We are regularly asked for raw milk for consumption by young children or individuals who are undergoing medical treatment which goes against every recommendation for the consumption of raw milk.
We are still producing raw milk cheese as the cheese making process and the style of cheese that we produce reduces significantly the risk of pathogens being present in the finished product.
